Did you ask yourself the question recently: “what difference have I made today?”.
#Contractmanagement and #outsourcing professionals are sometimes questioned about their cost. Program leads work with tight budgets and therefore always look for cost optimizations.
Earlier in my career I was also asked about my cost and how to reduce it. Then I learned from one of my managers to put a reminder in my calendar at the end of each workday with the above question.
It helps you to keep in mind the value that you add to your project. I actually keep an active record of cost that I have saved, additional revenue I secured, financial and operational risks I have reduced, etc.
As long as you retain this mindset and can demonstrate what value you bring, you will find out that no one will ever question your cost again. Rather they’ll ask for more of your services since you bring them something instead of eating away their budget.
